Welcome to Our Event Site: Where History and Hospitality Blend.

In the early 2000s, a Californian high-tech couple with a penchant for real estate investment embarked on a journey that would lead them to our doorstep. Fate played a curious hand when they discovered that my husband’s name matched exactly with the wife’s brother’s name, who worked in a humble bakery store. This serendipitous coincidence led to a meeting in Ottawa, and soon after, our families crossed paths in the vibrant Silicon Valley. During that memorable trip to California, the husband proposed a unique opportunity – a charming bed and breakfast wood log house, crafted by a skilled private builder. In 2007, our families embarked on a joint adventure that would shape the course of our shared journey.

Our initial days of investment were filled with excitement and promise. Yet, as life often unfolds, we encountered some challenging moments. Tenants who refused to pay rent disappeared, and with the help of a determined private investigator, we located the escaped tenant. Unfortunately, they declared bankruptcy, leaving us unable to recoup the unpaid rent. In a separate incident, the local police had to intervene to evacuate a troublesome tenant whose trail of chaos left our front and back decks littered with empty alcohol bottles and garbage. It was a challenging period that tested our resolve, but it also strengthened our determination to make this place a haven for others.

In 2014, we decided to embark on a new path, embracing the world of short-term rentals. As we welcomed guests from near and far, we discovered that young couples, in particular, faced the daunting task of balancing their dream weddings with the reality of purchasing their first home. In response to this need, we decided to expand our offerings by creating a picturesque wedding venue right beside our beloved log house. Our aim was to provide couples with a DIY option that would not only make their wedding dreams come true but also help them save on wedding costs.

Our event site stands as a unique gem in the Ottawa community, where a house, a lush maple forest, and an elegant event venue seamlessly coexist. We take immense pride in being the only venue that offers this delightful combination. As we look ahead, our hearts are filled with excitement and anticipation. We are eager to continue serving the families in our community, providing them with a beautiful backdrop for their most cherished moments and creating lasting memories. We are delighted to share that, starting in September 2023, we have successfully hosted several events and have received the highest possible scores in our reviews. It is a testament to our commitment to excellence and the warm, welcoming atmosphere we strive to create.
